Academic Leadership and Service

Throughout my career, I have taken on various leadership roles and service positions in academia, professional organizations, and the broader scientific community. These roles have allowed me to contribute to the development of my field beyond my individual research activities.

Research Group Leadership

SIPPRE Research Group

In 2020, I founded the Signal, Image Processing & Pattern Recognition (SIPPRE ) Research Group at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Peloponnese. For more information about SIPPRE’s activities and team, please visit www.sippre-group.com .

Digital Sound Processing and Broadcasting Lab (PULSAR Radio)

As the founder of the PULSAR Radio , I’ve established a space for students to explore audio engineering, broadcasting techniques, and digital sound processing in a hands-on environment. The lab serves as both an educational facility and a platform for creative audio projects.

The PULSAR lab provides:

  • Professional audio recording and processing equipment
  • Training in digital audio workstation software
  • Opportunities for students to develop broadcasting skills
  • A platform for student-led podcasts and audio productions

International Academic Coordination

Erasmus+ Coordination

Since 2023, I serve as the Erasmus+ Coordinator for the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Peloponnese. In this role, I:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with international universities
  • Facilitate student and faculty exchange programs
  • Coordinate international academic initiatives and joint programs
  • Advise students on international study opportunities
  • Manage bilateral agreements with partner institutions

I maintain an active Erasmus+ MS Teams community where students can find information about opportunities, ask questions, and connect with peers who have participated in exchanges.

EUNICE European University Program

I’m actively involved in the EUNICE (European University for Customised Education) program, which connects our institution with partner universities across Europe. As part of this initiative, I teach the course “Decoding Life Signals: Innovations in Biomedical Engineering” during the spring semester to international students from the EUNICE network. This course explores cutting-edge techniques in biomedical signal processing and their applications in healthcare innovation. Additionally, I serve as the faculty advisor for the PULSAR Radio Broadcasting Club, which brings together EUNICE students from diverse cultural backgrounds to create and produce radio content. The club provides hands-on experience in audio production, broadcasting techniques, and digital storytelling, while fostering cross-cultural communication skills. These activities exemplify EUNICE’s mission of providing customized, international education experiences that prepare students for global challenges through innovative teaching approaches and practical skill development.
